My first "Tank learning day"

Hello Warriors,

like I've told you, on the past Sunday had my first "Tank learning day", went over to Juniper Leisure to be instructed and with the help of Ed Francis and The Mighty Jingles have a Vlog type of video as a resume of the day for you:

It was a enriching experience, the Staff at Juniper Leisure are formidable and had plenty of fun as well, breaking my main instructor (a veteran) into smiling while he was trying to keep himself serious for the camera, and when my second instructor hugged me so hard in amazement after I sang to him in Klingon. And Oh my, Oh my... The owner of the place, Robi is such a pool of knowledge! He is a kind and simple men who has packed 30 years of experience on working in this type of vehicles and spent as much time as I could observing him working. Much respect.

I'm being taught the whole "art" and we started with first things first, they took me to drive the FV432s to get familiarized with tracked vehicles, these APCs are the perfect start before jumping into tanks.
At the beginning was a bit unsure, it had been years since I drove anything serious and made a couple mistakes but immediately corrected them as my instructor, Nigel kept pointing them out. When finally got the hang of it and the controls became natural had to keep my tears inside, a mixture of happiness and sadness. As my second instructor kept telling positive words of how flawlessly I was driving through the intercoms, jokingly told him "It pains to know I was born for this but unfortunately got the "wrong" thing between my legs" he, a Royal Navy veteran firmly touched my shoulder and around these words he answered "I've served alongside woman and all of them were as worthy as man, you are no less." That brought some appease.

Nigel's approval.

06/10/2015 Q&A

Here it is:

- 88 L/56 in WoT won't be buffed in penetration because it would mean all the vehicles with this gun would have to be rebalanced;
- Japanese heavies are really popular when compared to other the Asian vehicles;
- FCM Pak 40 was removed from sales because it's operpowered;
- Foch 155 and Object 268 won't be changed for now;
- There are still variants what to do with Foch (like giving it a 120mm gun instead of the 155mm);
- FV101 Scorpion won't come in 2016;
- There are only few vehicles planned to be implemented in next 5 years in WoT
- It's possible the French heavy branch without autoloader will appear in 2016
- Hungarian and Swiss tanks will only appear as German premiums
- Captured tanks are basically scrapped
- Cybersports effectiveness is questionable according to Storm, there are only few veiwers
- Team Battles are doing nice (10 percent of players participate), there are plans for further updates
- It's possible more maps will be removed in order to transfer maps to HD faster
- Dragon Ridge, Severogorsk and North-West were all removed because of the altitude differences between various paths
- According to Storm the best maps in the game are the oldest from the beta test
- Kharkov, Windstorm and Stalingrad are the maps with lowest performance
- Kharkov is doing fine gameplay-wise
- A desert map for lowtier battles will come, no new desert maps for higher tiers are planned though
- there will be a special fun mode for Christmas - they thought about Tank Biathlon but decided not to do it for now
- Havok was tested on Stalingrad map, the result was poor: critical overload of RAM and processor. Then they tried to cut buildings into four pieces only to reduce the stress - that didn't end well, looked bad, they need more pieces
- New Havok physics will come in small parts (stuff hanging on tanks, destruction of small objects etc)
- WG is planning the landscape to be deformable by explosions
- In new Historical Battle mode, bots will play lowtier tanks
- It's possible to build an Israeli branch with a lot of clones (like the Chinese branch)
- The most common resolution in WoT is 1366x768 (laptop)
- Bonus XP for tanking is in development with medium priority
- Developers are planning to completely overhaul the equipment system just like crew skills
- Multi-gun and multi-turret mechanism will not come soon
- The amount of artillery in battles did drop but now it seems to start increasing, current artillery affects gameplay negatively (due to randomness, oneshots, the fact the players can't fire back)

What to expect in 10.0

Hello Warriors,

this is what we can expect for Visibility system in the next WoT's patch 10.0:

Current 9.10 version:

Green circle: spotting range
Red square: draw distance.

The diagonal draw distance exceeds the straight-ahead draw distance by 207 m. This setup was required by specific features of the game engine. However, in Version 10.0, the draw distance system of World of Tanks will be changed:

The draw distance square will be replaced by a circle of 564m radius. This will offer an even distribution increasing the draw distances by about 13% (64 m).

What do you think?

Hello Warriors,

One of you, Tristan Van Hoof has shared this video of the Australian 1st Armoured Regiment performing exercises. A reminder of what tanks can bring to a fight:
